Business Journalist Awards 2009

 

Welcome to the UCD Smurfit School Business Journalist Awards 2009 website.  These awards, which took place for the first time in November 2007, recognise and reward the work of business journalists throughout the country. We were delighted with the success of the awards last year which saw over 114 entries from business journalists, an 11% increase on the number of entries received in 2007. This year we are also delighted to announce the sponsorship of the Business Journalist Awards 2009 by Hewlett Packard.

 

The awards will be judged by an independent and distinguished panel of judges which comprises of key figures from the world of business, journalism and academia. The winner of each category will receive a prize trophy and €1,000.

Outstanding Achievement Award

This year, one journalist will be recognised for his/her outstanding achievements in business journalism. This honorary award is distinct in that the judges willl choose a journalist who, throughout his/her career, has enhanced our understanding
of business in Ireland and inspired others.
