Prof Niamh Brennan



Niamh Brennan, BSc (Microbiology), PhD (Warwick), FCA, CDir, is both a chartered accountant and a chartered director.  She holds the Michael MacCormac Professor of Management at University College Dublin and is Academic Director of the Centre for Corporate Governance at UCD.

Professor Brennan is a non-executive director of Ulster Bank and chair of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority, and she is a former non-executive director of:  Lifetime Assurance (Bank of Ireland’s life assurance subsidiary); Health Services Executive; Coillte (the State forestry company); and of Co-Operation Ireland.

She served for seven years on the audit committee of the Department of Agriculture and Food.  She chaired the Commission on Financial Management and Control Systems in the Health Services.

She has published widely in the areas of Financial Reporting, Corporate Governance and Forensic Accounting.
