Aidan F. Browne


Aidan Browne is a Partner and Director of Business Development of Sullivan & Worcester for its three offices (Boston, New York and Washington DC).   He is also a consultant to Ireland's largest law firm, A&L Goodbody.  He is principally involved in Foreign Direct Investment business between Europe, US and most recently in the People’s Republic of China, with a special focus on Ireland.

Among many clients, Aidan represents all of the major banks in Ireland with operations in the US, Irish real estate funds and investors in US real estate.  He has assisted more than 50 Irish technology companies, banks, real estate investment funds and individuals now located in the US, in areas including: Tax, REITS, mergers and acquisitions; venture capital; raising capital; business development; market development; and with corporate partnerships or joint venture opportunities.  Aidan works with many of the leading US venture capital firms investing in both life sciences and ICT and is a limited partner in several of these.

A native of Dublin now resident in Greater Boston, Aidan maintains close ties with Ireland.  He is Chairman of the Sugan Theatre of Boston, GOAL Boston, and is a member of Boston College’s parents council and Boston College’s Gasson Society Committee.  He is a founding member of the North American Advisory Board of The Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College Dublin and was awarded a Fellowship of that School in 2007.  He is listed in the top 100 Business & Finance “Most Influential Irish American Businessman” in 2007 and 2008.  He is a general partner of Lansdowne Partners, A US commercial real estate investment firm and a limited partner in several US and Irish venture capital funds.

Prior to joining Sullivan & Worcester, Aidan was an Advisor to various law firms on international expansion matters.  Over one five-year period, he was the exclusive Advisor to Japanese investors in the US, and completed several substantial investment projects for them in various states nationwide.  Altogether, he has had 20 years of experience as a corporate and commercial real estate Attorney and Consultant in both Europe and the US.

Aidan received his undergraduate degree in Business from University College Dublin.  He has two Law degrees, having graduated from the Law School of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland and Suffolk University Law School Boston.   He is a member of: the Massachusetts Bar Association; the Boston Bar Association; the International Bar Association; the Asian Pacific Bar Association; the American Bar Association; and the Bars of England and Ireland.  He is a Solicitor in Ireland.
