Patrick J Lynch is a former Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Texaco Inc. He joined Texaco in 1961, working in the Comptroller’s Department in New York as a traveling auditor and was appointed Assistant Manager of that department in 1967. After serving in various managerial assignments with increasing responsibility, he was named Manager of International Accounting in 1970, Staff Coordinator in the department in 1971, and Assistant Comptroller of Texaco Inc. in 1974. Lynch was appointed Associate Deputy Comptroller at the company’s executive offices in Harrison, NY in 1979 and Associate Comptroller in 1980.
Lynch was named Senior Assistant Treasurer and Assistant General Manager of the Finance Department in 1985, and Deputy Treasurer and General Manager of the department the following year. He was appointed Comptroller of the company in 1988.
Lynch was elected a Vice President of Texaco Inc. in 1992. He was named President of Texaco’s Latin America/West Africa Division in 1994, and relinquished his position as Comptroller. Later that year he was named President of Texaco Europe. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President in January 1997 with oversight responsibilities for the company’s financial planning and commodities management units. He retired from Texaco in October, 2001.
Lynch is currently a Director of North American Galvanizing Company. Prior Directorships include Aquila, Inc., The American Petroleum Institute where he also served as the Chairman of the General Committee on Finance, The Council of Financial Executives for The Conference Board, the CFO Advisory Council for the Financial Executives Institute, and he was a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Committee.
From 2002-2008, Lynch served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and continues to serve Iona on various Board Committees. He received an honorary degree from Iona College in 2008.
Lynch graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY in 1959 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.
