Smurfit People

At UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, we see our faculty and staff as our primary resource.

Our Objectives

UCD Smurfit School provides a climate that encourages and values the participation of each faculty and staff member. Our aim is simple: to inspire our students through our teaching and create an exciting, supportive environment in which to study.

We work hard to make sure our students benefit from studying in an environment where teachers have direct involvement in researching their subject area and are happy to share their knowledge and experience.

The Dean

Professor Ciarán Ó'hÓgartaigh was named Dean of UCD School of Business in June 2011.  He is a BComm graduate of NUI Galway, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen (Dublin) and holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Leeds.  A former Fullbright Fellow at Northeastern University (Boston), he has published widely on financial reporting and on accounting history in international peer-reviewed publications.
