Taking on operating roles, Mr Hynes personally directed the establishment in Europe of COLT Telecommunications in 1992 and was the first CEO of that organization until moving to the role of Chairman at the time of COLT’s IPO in 1996. In early 2003, he formed Neutral Tandem Inc. (NTI) to address the only remaining monopoly provided service in the US telecom market. Following significant funding from Doll Capital and New Enterprise Associates, NTI commenced service in early 2004. Mr Hynes served as CEO until early 2006. Neutral Tandem had a very successful initial public officer in November 2007. Mr Hynes currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
He has served as a Director on numerous Boards, both independently and as a representative of Fidelity’s interests.
