UCD Smurfit School graduates win LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT IDEAS OF THE YEAR AWARD 2008

3rd April 2008 - In the LOGISTICS category of the "Logistics & Transport Ideas of the year Awards 2008", Aiden Costello & Darach de Búrca graduates of the 2007 MBS Supply Chain Management at UCD Smurfit School, won the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Student of the Year (CILT) Award for their paper “The Clustering of Products to Improve Demand Forecast Accuracy” (supervised by Professor Brian Fynes and Michael Phelan of CTVR)

The CILT has as its mission statement to “advance and promote the science and art of logistics and transport.”  Through the IDEAS OF THE YEAR AWARDS, the CILT gives recognition to people who have developed innovative ideas which can make a significant contribution to the logistics and transport industry.

Student prizes were awarded for innovative ideas across six categories: Logistics, Air, Sea, Safety & Environment, Rail and Road.
