Three Shenzhen University students, Zhang Tao, Zhou Ran and Huang Shan, recently met with President McAleese at a lecture and debate held in Aras and Uachtarain on Nov. 17th. The lecture, entitled 'What it means to be Irish', was recorded by RTE radio and will be aired in December.
These students are currently studying for the MSc degree in UCD Smurfit School on the foot of the recently formed collaboration between UCD and Shenzhen University Business School, China.
The President, who has visited Shenzhen University twice with Irish delegations, was delighted to meet with the three UCD international students at the Aras. She conveyed her regards to the Shenzhen University President, Prof. Zhang Bigong, who himself was a recent visitor to UCD.
The students presented President McAleese with a gift of Beijing Olympic Jade.
