UCD Smurfit School appoints Ireland’s First Professor of Supply Chain Management

Bryan Fynes - Professor of Supply Chain Management

Professor Brian Fynes has been appointed  Professor of Supply Chain Management at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School .  This is the first such appointment in Ireland and underpins UCD Smurfit School ’s premier position in researching and teaching Supply Chain Management. In his new role he will be responsible for leading the School’s research programme in supply chain management as well as supervising PhD students.

Brian has an established international reputation in supply chain management and has published extensively in leading journals. He also represents Ireland at the Global Manufacturing Research Group(GMRG). He has raised over €2m. in research funding and is Principal Investigator on the IBM Integrated Supply Chain Research Consortium. In addition he leads the National Institute of Technology Management team on the Science Foundation Ireland funded Centre for Telecommunications Value Chain Research.

Brian holds a PhD from the National University of Ireland and was previously a faculty member at London Business School .
