UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School Last recently hosted a visiting MBA class from Stern Business School, New York University as part of its 'Doing Business in Ireland' programme. The group of 35 full- and part-time MBA students came to experience Ireland and gain insights into doing business internationally.
The programme consisted of a series of lectures by Smurfit School faculty on Ireland’s political, economic, cultural, financial and entrepreneurial environment; case studies on Ryanair and Baileys; visits by guest speakers from CRH, Koelo Solutions (a financial services software company), the IDA (Industrial Development Authority), Enterprise Ireland, the American Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Bankers; and company visits to Dell and Microsoft.
The group also got to experience Dublin’s vibrant city life and cultural scene with a Dublin Bus Tour, a visit to the Guinness Storehouse and a theatre night at Roddy Doyle’s version of “The Playboy of the Western World”.
