Date: 05 Oct 2009

UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School's Masters in Management degree programme has again been ranked in the world's top 40 by the Financial Times; the only Irish business school to have its programme featured in these prestigious rankings.

In addition, the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) Masters in International Management programme, which is also provided at UCD Smurfit School, has been ranked first in the world. UCD Smurfit School is one of 27 schools across the world providing this programme.

UCD Smurfit School has also had its MBA programmes consistently ranked in the world's top 100 and Europe's top 50 by both the Financial Times and the Economist Intelligence Unit over the last 10 years. It is the only Irish business school to feature in these rankings.

Professor Tom Begley, Dean, commented on the results today saying: "We are delighted to be amongst the global elite in these prestigious rankings. We will continue to devote resources to making UCD Smurfit School a centre of excellence in business education in Ireland and globally. In the current economic circumstances we think it's more important than ever that students get the skills they need to compete in a globalised business world."

As part of UCD Smurfit School's international strategy, the school has benchmarked itself against the best schools globally over the last ten years. It is one of a small number of business schools worldwide to hold triple international accreditation (US - AACSB, European - EQUIS and UK - AMBA).
