Financial Times ranks UCD Smurfit School Executive MBA amongst global elite

UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School has been ranked 65th in the world by the Financial Times ranking of the world’s top 95 Executive part-time MBA programmes, to be published Monday 19th October 2009. Once again the school is the only Irish business school listed in the rankings.

In September the School was also ranked 38th in the world by the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking. In addition, the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) Masters in International Management programme, which is also provided at UCD Smurfit School, was ranked 1st in this same ranking.

Results for the Financial Times Executive MBA programme at UCD Smurfit School reveal an increase in average graduate salaries of 60% in the three years since graduation.

Professor Tom Begley, Dean of UCD Smurfit School, commented on the results today saying:

“We are delighted to be the only Irish business school ranked amongst the global elite by the Financial Times.  Ireland needs a world class business school generating state of the art knowledge which guides innovative business practice. We will continue to devote resources to making UCD Smurfit School a centre of excellence in business education in Ireland and globally. Steps being taken to achieve this level of excellence include a continued emphasis on attracting the best quality students and academics as well as building important alliances with other international institutions. ”
