Generously and kindly endowed by KPMG, the Denis O'Connor Doctoral Scholarship in Accounting celebrates the achievement and leadership of the late Denis O’Connor, former Managing Partner of KPMG in Ireland.  It recognises his work as one of the leading accounting professionals of his generation until his untimely death in 2006 at the age of 46.  In his memory, the Scholarship will contribute substantively to building the next generation of accounting educators and professionals in Ireland.

The scholarship, which is run in conjunction with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, was formerly awarded to the Kate Cullen at a ceremony held in UCD Smurfit School on November 30th.  Pictured below is Terence O'Rourke of KPMG, scholarship winner Kate Cullen and Professor Tom Begley, Dean UCD School of Business
