UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School wants to make the giving of donations as flexible and convenient as possible.


What are the options?

The School offers supporters a variety of options for making donations.

Cheque

Many people find it most convenient to make their donation by sending a cheque to the Smurfit School. Please send your cheque, made payable to the “UCD Foundation and designated for the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, to the following address:

Leaving a legacy

Your bequest to UCD Smurfit School can take any of a number of forms. You can bequeath a specific amount, or a portion of what remains after your obligations to others are fulfilled. You can designate your bequest to support the School as a whole, or you can establish a permanent named fund for scholarships, programme support, professorships, or similar options.

There are a number of different types of legacies, including:

  • Pecuniary: A gift of a specific amount of money.
  • Residuary: A share of the rest of your assets that you have not already given away.
  • Specific: A gift of a specific item.

If you have already made a will and you wish to give a gift to UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, you will need to prepare a new will, or ask your solicitor to add a codicil (addition) in a similar way to the original will. A codicil needs to be witnessed and signed in the same way as the original will, and should be kept in the same place as the original will.
