Cathy joined the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Career Development Centre in August 2010. Formerly, Cathy was an Associate Director with one of Ireland's largest recruitment companies. She led the company's recruitment teams providing solutions to the Insurance, Banking/ Financial, Legal and HR sectors. In this role Cathy developed relationships with many of the key employers in those sectors and gained a deep knowledge of the employer requirements in each industry and company.

Sophie joined as acting Senior Manager of the Career Development Centre at the UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business in October 2016, where her role involves managing the careers team and developing relationships and engaging with key graduate employers.

A career educationalist and more recently a Business and Executive Coach, Michael joined the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Career Development Centre as a Careers Manager in January 2016.
As a Careers Manager, he coaches students on an individual and group basis around topics such as career planning, effective applications and interview techniques to enable students fulfil their real potential.

Bernie joined the Career Development Centre team at the UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business in January 2016. Bernie’s primary role is to support students in their career planning and CV & Interview preparation.
Bernie is a HR consultant with over 20 years international and domestic experience across a range of industries.

Emma Darmody

Senior Careers & Skills Administrator

Emma joined the careers team as the Senior Careers and Skills Administrator in October 2016. Emma manages the event administration of all career related activities in the Smurfit School including recruitment fairs, employer presentations, skills workshops and student appointments.
She provides project and administrative support to the Senior Career Manager and the team, and is the first point of contact for all student queries in person, by phone or email.
