Eamonn holds a joint appointement in UCD, in the School of Business and the School of  Mechanical and Materials Engineering.  He is active in teaching, research and the business development activities in both schools, with a particular focus on inter-school activities. 
 
Prior to joining UCD, Eamonn was Engineering Director for Bristol Myers Squibb, and was responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of process plants for developing and manufacturing anti-cancer drugs.  He also worked as a consultant advising major multinationals and government agencies in asset management and procurement process improvement.
 
Eamonn's teaching activity includes design and delivery of courses on Service Supply Chains, Supply Network Strategy, Operations Management, and Quality Management.  He is also involved in curriculum development for technology related Masters Programmes, and on in-house executive programmes.  A particular interest is the development and delivery of Service Supply Chain programmes.  Eamonn is actively researching in the areas of supply chain management and value chain optimisation.   He on the leadership team of the IBM Integrated Supply Chain Research Consortium, a group of supply chain experts drawn from universities in the US, Europe and Asia, and is currently working with IBM on the development of a service oriented culture across the organisation.
