Dr Eleanor O'Higgins, BA, MSc (McGill U), MBA (UCD), PhD (TCD) Eleanor O'Higgins is on the faculty of the School of Business at UCD and a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She specialises in teaching, research and publications in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and strategic management. She is the author of numerous articles in academic and professional journals, book chapters, case studies and newspaper articles. Eleanor is on the editorial boards of a number of international management journals. She is a member of the Business Ethics and of the Public Management & Governance interfaculty groups of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS).and had held various leadership positions in the US Academy of Management. She carries out numerous teaching and speaking assignments nationally and internationally. Her case study and research work on the airline industry and on Ryanair has received numerous international awards. She is a a member of the Press Council of Ireland and serves on an IBEC Sustainable Enterprise task force. She has extensive experience in business through consulting work, as a company director and her previous managerial career. She has served on the board of directors and various board committees of IDA Ireland, of the Irish Marine Institute, of Transparency International Ireland, of the Well Woman Group of health clinics. Previously, she has worked at Harvard University Medical School, the Irish Health Services, and Radio Telefis Eireann. |
