Research He has twice won the UCD Business School Annual Outstanding Publication Award for his research and the Best Strategy Paper at the European Academy of Management. He has published his research in international academic peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, Long Range Planning and the British Journal of Management. He is a Principal Investigator on the UCD PTRLI 'Innovation Policy Simulation for the SMART Economy (IPSE) funded by the Irish Government. His element of this collaborative project is focused on analysing the impact of R&D success and failure experience upon the performance of European and North American biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms in terms of changes to their innovation strategy, R&D task performance and firm financial performance. Education Teaching He is committed to infusing his teaching with the evidence based research insights. He is the author of a number of strategy and enterpreneurship teaching case studies. He is co-author of a case study on the Irish business format franchiser Abrakebabra, which won the 2007 European Case Award in Entrepreneurship, organized by the European Case Clearing House. He served a five year term as an Assistant Editor of Long Range Planning, one of the longest established peer review journals in the strategy domain. Administration |
| Thematic Focus of my Current Research: Performance impacts of education careers and programs. This program includes research on the efficacy of strategy education using experimental designs, and the impact of initial conditions and career decisions upon the research performance of business school academics. Empirical settings are primarily in the:

Case Studies I am also committed to the translation of research into teach practice through writing teaching case studies on a range of strategy topics in a sectors such as biotechnology, domestic owned mid-sized corporations and not-for-profits. My case work has won the Best Entrepreneurship Case Study from the European Case Clearing House. |

| Internal seminar and workshop series organizer. I founded and organized the internal brown bag strategy and later macro management workshop and seminar series within the Business School. Papers in all stages of development were presented and discussed within the seminars, from early stage ideas to pre-conference and between stages of the peer review journal submission process. This series took place over the academic years 2006 to 2008. Participants included faculty members and PhD students. These workshops also afforded the opportunity to discuss research funding issues. |

| My primary teaching area is strategic management. I have taught courses in Ireland, Europe and Asia. My portfolio of teaching courses has spanned: * Strategic Management - undergraduate I have also taught Research Methods courses on specialist masters programmes (MBS and MSc). |
| During my tenure at UCD I have been the module organizer and lecturer for the following courses: Economic Foundations of Strategy - MSc (specialty masters) I have supervised approximately 75 specialty masters research dissertations (MSc) and 25 summer research projects. I have also taught on Executive Education programmes in the strategy and research domains. |
