Biography:
Dr. Karan Sonpar earned his PhD at University of Alberta, Canada in 2008. His main interests are in the areas of stakeholder theory, behavioral strategy, institutional theory, and emerging markets. Much of his research is phenomenon-driven and uses qualitative or mixed-methods. His work appears in the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Organizational Research Methods, Human Resource Management, and Human Relations. Karan lectures on behavioural strategy and leadership and is the Academic Director of the BCom (International) Program. He is a recipient of the School of Business Early Career Research Award in 2011, Professor of the Year Teaching Award in 2008, and a Graduate Student Teaching Award in 2006. He has previously worked in India, Canada, and Spain and his last academic appointment was in the Instituto de Empresa Business School, Spain. Karan served as a Captain in the Indian Military prior to his academic career. |

| Using qualitative research methods for theory-elaboration, stakeholder theory, behavioral strategy, and institutional theory. Additional areas of interest include emerging markets and leadership. |
