ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your native language, unless you have done your primary degree through English in an english speaking country, an English language qualification is required for all programmes. Download the english language requirements

For all MSc programmes you will need one of the following:

  • A minimum second-class honours degree in business or a finance related area. 
    or
  • An honours Higher Diploma in Business Studies.
    or
  • A primary degree with a minimum of three years’ work experience in the specialisation you are applying for a related area.

  • A primary degree in an appropriate field. These includes mathematical finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering and physics
  • High academic grades (your transcript should include grades for each subject taken)
  • Two completed reference forms from referees who can assess your intellectual ability, maturity and motivation. Part-time students can provide employer references
  • Candidates may be asked to sit the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) subject to individual application


You must have the following:

  • A minimum second-class honours (Grade 1) degree in business or related discipline or
  • An honours Higher Diploma in Business Studies and
  • You must be fluent in two languages (including your mother tongue as stipulated by CEMS), with the view to having fluency in a third language on completion of the programme.  One of your languages must be English.
  • You must also attend for interview


  • You must have a minimum second-class honours degree. Applications are invited from graduates with non-business primary degrees keen to pursue a career in business.
  • Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements may be considered on a case by case basis, dependent on work experience and/or other qualifications.


MSc in Business Analytics

  • The closing date for application is 30 July 2010
  • A minimum second class honours primary degree which includes quantitative techniques and some computer programming element  For example graduates of Engineering, Computer Science, other Sciences, business studies (with MIS-Management Information Systems subjects), maths or other quantitative courses who have already studied some computer programming content.
  • GMAT or GRE may be required at the Director's discretion.
  • Two completed reference forms from referees who can assess your maturity, motivation and intellectual ability. Part-time students can provide employer references.


MSc in Project Management Practice

  • You must have a university degree or equivalent professional qualification with at least three years’ relevant work experience.
  • Two completed reference forms from your employer/line manager.  
  • Please note that this is a part-time programme, therefore students requiring a visa to study in Ireland are therefore not eligible for this programme unless they are already working in Ireland.


Msc Marketing Practice

  • Honours business primary degree or an honours degree in another discipline. Acceptance on the programme is subject to demonstration of an aptitude in marketing.
  • Interview: The interview process is made up of two separate interviews; one individual and one group interview.



MSc in Strategic Management Accounting

You will need:

  1. At least a Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent in a business degree.
  2. Full exemptions from the following CIMA papers:
    1. Operational Level: P1 Performance Operations and F1 Financial Operations.
    2. Management Level: P2 Performance Management
  3. Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience.

For exceptional candidates, the faculty may relax either the academic or work experience requirements, but not both. In all instances, such applicants will be required to have obtained the above-prescribed CIMA exemptions.

An individual interview may form part of the selection process.
