FORA MBA Scholarship

UCD Smurfit School is delighted to partner with Fora in offering one person an MBA Scholarship worth up to €34,500 for either the part- or full-time MBA starting August 2018.

To enter the competition, you must fulfil at a minimum the following criteria/conditions:

  1. You must have a minimum university degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of three years' relevant work experience.
  2. A panel of judges will select a short-list of candidates who will have to complete the standard MBA programme application process if they have not already done so by 20th March 2018.
  3. You must have already taken or be prepared to take at short notice the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Admission to the programme is subject to achieving a minimum score* on this test. Further information at www.mba.com and www.smurfitschool.ie. The scholarship winner must have taken and secured the relevant minimum GMAT test entry score by 29th May 2018 at the latest.
  4. You must have two references, normally from current and/or former employer and/or colleague.
  5. The Fora Scholarship will be awarded to the highest calibre candidate selected from the applications received, subject to their meeting, at a minimum, the standard entry requirements of the UCD Smurfit School full-time or executive MBA.
  6. UCD Smurfit School reserves the right not to award the scholarship if the judging panel does not deem any of the candidates to be of the required calibre.
  7. Final admission is subject to an interview/assessment centre (16th June 2018).

To enter the Fora Scholarship Competition 2018 you must complete the online entry form by the deadline of Monday February 27th 2018.

Participants who fulfil the minimum entry requirements for the Smurfit MBA will be eligible to progress to Stage 2 of the competition.

  1. The Fora Scholarship competition is open to residents of Ireland except employees of UCD and Journal Media Ltd, and their associated affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their immediate families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition.
  2. The competition is open to those who have already submitted an application directly to UCD Smurfit School for 2018 entry to the MBA programme.
  3. The winning candidate will be awarded a scholarship to an upper value of €34,500 towards the tuition fees of the UCD Smurfit School full-time or executive MBA programmes.
  4. The Scholarship will be awarded to the candidate deemed to be of the highest calibre by the UCD Smurfit School judging panel. The decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  5. UCD Smurfit School reserves the right not to award the scholarship if the judging panel does not deem any of the candidates to be of the required calibre.
  6. The winning candidate has a choice of participating on the one year full-time MBA or either of the two executive (part-time over 2 years) MBA courses: Executive MBA Blackrock Midweek; Executive MBA Blackrock Weekend
  7. Candidates should have a university degree or equivalent professional qualification, a minimum of three years' professional experience, an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and two references, normally from current and/or former employers and/or colleagues.
  8. The scholarship winner must have taken and secured the relevant minimum GMAT test entry score by May 29th 2018 at the latest.
  9. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the judging panel, and must be available in person to attend interview.
  10. Candidates should be available to commence the full-time or executive MBA programme in late August 2018.
  11. The competition is not open to recipients of any other MBA scholarships being awarded by UCD Smurfit School, but is to open to those who have applied for 2018 entry to the programme.
  12. Closing date for entries: Monday February 27th 2018.
  13. Closing date for MBA application to be completed (if not already submitted): Monday 20th March 2018.
  14. Winning candidate will be informed in summer 2018. Assessment Centre proposed for 12th June 2018.
  15. Classes commence late August 2018.
  16. No cash alternative.
  17. No substitutions allowed.
  18. Winner must agree to participate in publicity if applicable.

Scholarships Notice

Candidates qualifying for more than one scholarship or bursary and successful in that, can’t add or combine them. They will be awarded the higher amount. Candidates can't transfer or use one scholarship or bursary between or against another programme. Scholarships and bursaries are also not allowed to be deferred to a future academic year so will be awarded to the student for the year they are offered a place only in UCD Smurfit. That is, students can't defer their place in UCD Smurfit to a future year.
