Message from the director

Welcome to the Doctoral Studies Programme at the University College Dublin Graduate School of Business. We are Ireland’s leading Business School. We are consistently ranked amongst the leading business schools in Europe and University College Dublin is ranked amongst the top 100 universities in the world (Times Higher Education QS World University Rankings).

We offer two graduate research degrees; the MPhil and PhD. Students follow a structured programme of study which includes taught modules in approaches and methodologies in research, discipline specific modules as well as courses in life long and transferable skills. Modules are jointly delivered with colleagues from across the Business School and the University including staff from Law, Social Sciences and Mathematical Sciences.

Students work with leading researchers in their field. Each student has a primary and second supervisor. There is also a supervisory panel which meets with the student and supervisor to offer support and guidance. Members of these panels often come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines from within the School and the University to help identify imaginative and fruitful solutions to problems which students may face in their research.

Staff at the School are engaged in a rich variety of exciting research projects across the full range of business disciplines. Many also work with colleagues elsewhere in the University and with colleagues in other leading business schools in Europe and further afield.
