An Tánaiste Mr Eamon Gilmore T.D. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade will host the first ever Africa-Ireland Economic Forum on Tuesday 13th September 2011. The Forum will be co-hosted by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
The objective of the Africa-Ireland Economic Forum is to provide an opportunity for African Government representatives and Irish business to openly discuss trade and investment opportunities. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will launch the new Africa Strategy at the Forum. The Strategy seeks to identify opportunities to build on forty years of development experience, to adopt a more coherent approach to our relations with African countries and to build on our positive relationship to expand engagement in areas of mutual interest including enhanced political and trade relations.
