The Central Bank’s new Fitness & Probity regime applies from 1 December 2011 for 42 senior positions in financial services companies, with application to less senior positions in scope from 1 March 2012. The Central Bank will have the power to approve or veto appointment of people to certain positions, to remove or prohibit certain position-holders and to set statutory standards of fitness and probity across the financial services sector. This course will introduce those affected by this new regime to these new regulations, and their implications in practice.
