Programme structure

The programme is delivered over a series of 6 workshops within a 9 month period. Workshops are held on Fridays and Saturdays to minimise interference in busy work lives.

Workshops are held from 9.00am to 5:30pm on Fridays and from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Saturdays.  The workshop dates for the programme commencing in 2011 are as follows:

14^th & 15^th October 2011
25^th & 26^th November 2011
6^th & 7^th January 2012
17^th & 18^th February 2012
30^th & 31^st March 2012
11^th & 12^th May 2012

Teaching methods

The theoretical basis of the Diploma in Sales Management will be tested in practical use through action learning and case study teaching methods.  Participants will thus be able to directly apply their learning from the very first weeks of the course.

Action Learning Project - A key aspect of learning at UCD Smurfit School is the ability to immediately apply learning to improve professional performance. In order to embed the knowledge gained throughout this Diploma, each of its component modules will be connected by a single action learning project, which is also directly related to the participant's work. This action learning project will build on each module and will therefore be an ongoing piece of individual work. A research methods day at the beginning of the Diploma will assist participants in the design and execution of this project.

Location

Workshops will take place in the Executive Education Centre at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
