Biography

Sean is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has worked in professional practice in Africa and Ireland. He holds a PhD (Accounting) from University College Cork. He has previously held appointments as an accountancy lecturer at University College Cork and Dublin City University.


Sean's teaching experience is primarily focused on financial accounting and financial statement analysis, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, Sean delivers occasional lectures for professional accountancy bodies.

Research

Research Interests

Sean's research interests are in the area of capital markets research in accounting, including earnings management and value relevance. His past studies have used econometric models to examine the relationship between accounting numbers and the market value/return of listed companies.
