Terms and Conditions

  1. Competition is open to residents of Ireland only.  The competition is not open to employees of UCD and The Irish Times, their associated affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their immediate families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition.
  2. The competition is also open to those who have already submitted an application directly to UCD for 2012 entry to the executive MBA programme.
  3. The Irish Times Executive MBA Scholarship will be awarded to the candidate deemed to be of the highest calibre by the UCD Smurfit School judging panel. The decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  4. Candidates should have a university degree or equivalent professional qualification, a minimum of three to five years' professional experience, an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and two references, normally from current and/or former employers and/or colleagues.
  5. The scholarship winner must have taken and secured the relevant minimum GMAT test entry score by 31st May 2012 at the latest.
  6. Candidates will be interviewed by the judging panel.
  7. The winning candidate has a choice of three MBA courses: Executive MBA Blackrock Campus Midweek; Executive MBA Blackrock Campus Weekend; Executive MBA City Centre Midweek
  8. Prize consists of two years' tuition fees.
  9. Candidates must be available to commence the Executive MBA programme in September 2012.
  10. The competition is not open to recipients of any other MBA scholarships being awarded by UCD Smurfit School, but is to open to those who have applied for 2012 entry to the programme.
  11. Closing date for entries: Friday 24th February 2012. 
  12. The winning candidate will be informed in summer 2012.
  13. Classes commence September 2012.
  14. No cash alternative.
  15. No substitutions allowed.
  16. Winner must agree to participate in publicity if applicable.
