Programme structure

The MSc in International Business is offered as a one-year full-time programme or on a two-year part-time basis.

If you are a part-time student, please note that classes are scheduled during the day and evening, Monday to Friday, so it is essential that you have the support of your employer.

To complete the programme you must complete four core modules and choose a minimum of two option modules. You must also complete either a dissertation or summer school modules.  The summer term comprises 12 weeks (May to August) whereby you have an option to engage in research or to complete additional taught modules. The Summer Term schedule varies from that of a traditional semester in that module delivery is organised in concentrated learning periods. Students completing the MSc in International Business may elect to complete a dissertation or select 3 (from a list of 8) modules.

The MSc IB combines academic content with skill-based and practical application of knowledge to solve international business problems. While the programme aims to deepen students' knowledge, attention is also given to the use that students make of this new knowledge.

Learning activities include case study analysis, presentations, simulations and games, group projects, seminar presentations, business reports, article critiques and guest presentations. With this interactive learning strategy students are required to be reflective and engaged learners.

A variety of assessment techniques including formal exams, research projects, article reviews, case presentations, report analysis etc are used.
