Win €42,000 towards a part-time MSc in Supply Chain Management and a 2-year internship with Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric IT Logistics Ireland is pleased to partner with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School to offer a scholarship to the value of €42,000 (€21,000 p.a.). Fees of €13,000 (€6500 p.a.) will be deducted and the remaining stipend will be paid monthly. The award recipient must be enrolled in the MSc in Supply Chain Management (Part-time) at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, and the recipient will complete a 2-year internship with Schneider Electric within their Global Supply Chain Office in Galway.
Schneider Electric will pay a stipend for two years to a student on the MSc in Supply Chain management (part-time) with a total value of €42,000. It offers the student the ability to gain experience of real world supply chain issues and also assist Schneider Electric to apply the latest academic thinking in supply chain management.
The MSc in Supply Chain Management will give you the most up-to-date knowledge, cutting edge theory, and practical guidance in supply chain management. The programme offers a range of modules to suit your career and work aspirations. You will also become part of a community of supply chain scholars through our alumni network that will give you opportunities and insights from across the globe.
Working with the Global Supply Chain Business Process Development Team you will be responsible for research and development within the area of Global Inventory Management. This will involve the assessment of current safety stock and reorder point models and comparison with best in class models used elsewhere within Schneider Electric.
An evaluation of how other companies operate safety stock models on similar ERP platforms will also be required. Assessment of current models will require detailed analysis, and the results will be presented to Executive Management at Schneider Electric.
After assessment is complete the design and development of advanced tools to implement a best in class inventory management system will be required. These tools will consider areas such as Demand Variability, Supplier Performance and Risk Management.
A required output of this program is an ‘Inventory Movie’ tool. This will show a view of inventory through time
International travel may be required.

The Schneider Electric Intern Scholarship is open to anyone who is applying for the MSc in Supply Chain Management especially those with an analytical or engineering background. Successful applicants will be enrolled in the part-time MSc in Supply Chain Management. If the successful candidate is enrolled in the full-time MSc they can convert to a part-time MSc in Supply Chain Management.

A judging panel consisting of representatives of UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business, MSc in Supply Chain Management and Schneider Electric will decided on the best candidate. The candidates may be called for interview between 7th and 26th August.
Deadlines for application will be 12th August 2011 and the recipient will be notified in the week commencing 22nd August 2011.
