Thesis Title: Understanding residential electricity consumers demand needs and renewable energy supply capabilities using explainable machine learning models
Research Interests: Applied Machine Learning, Renewable Energy, Developing World
Charity is a second year PhD student at ML-LABS (SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning) jointly supervised by UCD Smurfit and UCD School of Computer Science. She holds a Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University where she specialised in data science. Her bachelors degree was in Software Engineering at Makerere University. She has over 3 years of experience in data science, project management, product development in fin-tech and energy tech in the developing world.
Charity analyzes time series data using data analytics and machine learning (supervised and unsupervised learning) to uncover patterns pertinent to sustainability in the balance between residential energy demand and supply. Her career objective is to support organisations in achieving their business goals while making data-centric decisions.
