Thesis Title: Essays on Machine Learning in Sustainable finance

Gabija is a second year PhD student at ML-Labs jointly supervised by UCD Smurfit and UCD School of Computer Science. She holds an MSc in Quantitative Finance (Distinction) from the University of Strathclyde (UK) and has several years of industry experience as a Junior Financial Data Scientist.
Gabija’s research is focused on refinancing for sustainable transitions, Paris-Aligned and Climate Transition Benchmarks and explainable machine learning in finance. She is also involved in the GreenWatch initiative digitising the environmental data and tackling the issue of greenwashing. Her previous research includes a report in collaboration with Refinitiv on Corporate Governance and Sustainability.
