Dr. Alessio Cozzolino presented with Award by Sinan Erzurumlu, Chair of the Technology and Innovation Management Section at INFORMS, during the 2015 Annual Meeting
Dr. Alessio Cozzolino, UCD Business Lecturer in SCM, was announced the winner for the Best Dissertation Award at the 2015 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia on November 2nd.
Alessio's dissertation examines the relationship between technological changes and competitive advantage, combining qualitative and quantitative longitudinal data from the Italian newspaper industry (1995-2014). His dissertation, entitled 'Three Essays on Technological Changes and Competitive Advantage: Evidence from the Newspaper Industry', theorizes and tests the consequences of a new type of technological change, one that destroys incumbents' complementary assets while preserving their core know-how.
His PhD Thesis was selected in April as one of the four finalists of the Technology and Innovation Management Section (TIMES) at INFORMS, and Alessio was invited to present it during the special session Best Dissertation Award finalists in November 2015.
The first of the three essays that constitute the dissertation of Alessio Cozzolino had already received an honourable mention of the Best Conference Paper Prize by the Strategic Management Society in 2013 in Atlanta.
Congratulations Alessio from all at UCD Business.
