MSc Excellence Scholarship

The UCD Smurfit School MSc Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to one successful MSc candidate, with the scholarship covering 50% of tuition fees.

Open to all successful applicants for the full-time MSc, who are resident in Ireland, achieving the relevant minimum qualifications.

Please note the deadline for transcripts is two weeks prior to semester commencement.

There is no separate application process for this scholarship.

All successful applicants who apply to a UCD Smurfit School MSc programme will be considered.  When making your programme application, please indicate in your application that you want to be considered for this scholarship.  You can also email smurfit.admissions@ucd.ie for further information.

Please note that UCD Belfield programmes run in conjunction with UCD Smurfit School - MSc in Biotechnology and Business, MSc in Biotherapeutics and Business and MSc in International Law and Business - are not eligible for Scholarships.

  1. The UCD Smurfit School MSc Excellence Scholarship is open to residents of Ireland.
  2. The Scholarship is open to those who have submitted an application directly to UCD Smurfit School for 2020 entry to one of the MSc programme or the Master of Accounting.
  3. The UCD Smurfit School MSc Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to the candidate deemed to be of the highest calibre by the UCD Smurfit School assessment panel. UCD Smurfit School reserves the right not to award the Scholarship prize if no candidate of the required calibre is identified. The decision is final, and any further correspondence will not be entered into.
  4. Candidates should have a university degree
  5. The winning candidate has a choice of participating on the one year Full-time MSc Programme
  6. The scholarship is worth up to 50% of the tuition fees of the FT MSc .
  7. The competition is not open to recipients of any other scholarships being awarded by UCD Smurfit School, but is to open to those who have applied for 2020 entry to the programme.
  8. Deadline for submission of the MSc programme applications: July 5th
  9. Candidates must be available to commence the MSc programme end of August 2020.
  10. Scholarships cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
  11. No cash alternative.
  12. No substitutions allowed.
  13. Winner must agree to participate in publicity.
  14. By entering you are deemed to have accepted the rules and terms & conditions of the competition.
  15. Scholarship recipients will be asked to agree to act as student ambassadors, which will include duties at University events, recruitment events, participate in panels, and contribute to the University online and social media activities.

Scholarships Notice

Candidates qualifying for more than one scholarship or bursary and are successful, cannot add or combine awards. Candidates will be awarded the higher amount. Candidates cannot transfer or use one scholarship or bursary between or against another programme. Scholarships and bursaries are not allowed to be deferred to a future academic year and will be awarded to the student for the year they are offered a place in UCD Smurfit School. For example, students cannot defer their place in UCD Smurfit School to a future year.
