Edward A. Snyder, the William S. Beinecke Professor of Management and the dean of Yale SOM from 2011 to 2019, received an honorary doctorate of economic science from University College Dublin at a ceremony on December 13.

As dean, Snyder led the creation of the Global Network Advanced Management, which connects leading business schools around the world. UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business was among the founding members of the network.

“Ted set out to create a unique business school network focused on a truly global experience for students, but lower in bureaucracy and even lower on cost,” said Damien McLoughlin, the Anthony C. Cunningham Professor of Marketing at UCD Smurfit, who served as the school’s associate dean for international programs at the time of the network’s founding.
