Biography :
Xiang Yao is a PhD candidate in Business at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. He intends to explore the intersection of finance and social equity, with a particular interest in how banking practices may influence inequality and access to financial services for minority groups. His goal is to contribute to research that promotes fairness and inclusion within financial systems.
Xiang holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Master’s degree from Columbia University. Before beginning his doctoral studies, he spent four years working in the finance industry in Shanghai, focusing on data and investment analysis, with additional experience in equity trading.
Through his PhD studies, Xiang aspires to advance knowledge on how financial institutions can play a role in reducing inequality and protecting disadvantaged groups.
