UCD Smurfit School North American Board Member Michael Dowling was featured on America’s most-watched newsmagazine television series, 60 Minutes on CBS.

Dowling, a Limerick native, is the CEO of Northwell Health System—one of the largest health systems in the US delivering world-class clinical care throughout the New York metropolitan area. As the leading integrated healthcare system in New York State, Northwell Health is on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis.

“In Manhattan, message boards beg on the street for recently retired health professionals to help treat patients,” said Dowling in an interview with 60 Minutes correspondent, Scott Pelley. Thousands of retirees have responded.

“I would like to say to the public, the health care system is resilient. We will handle this. And it's important for people to understand this. You don't quit. You don't retreat. You don't put up the white flag. You are going to win.”
