Smurfit is no fan of Donald Trump, despite living a floor below the US president at Trump Tower in New York for 25 years
Michael Smurfit reaches across the table, grabs a fistful of branded biros and stuffs them in the jacket pocket of his smart grey three-piece suit. You wouldn’t blame him: the promo pens are from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a testament to the octogenarian businessman’s quarter-century as benefactor to the south Dublin institute.
“This is one of the better business decisions I have made in my life,” says Smurfit, gesturing around a classroom in the school’s executive development centre, which has just had a €5m overhaul. “The school makes very good money; if I look back, I should probably have tried to joint-venture with it.” To read full article please click here.
