Shaun Murphy appointed as Adjunct Professor at UCD Smurfit School
UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is pleased to announce that Mr Shaun Murphy has joined the School for a five-year appointment as an Adjunct Full Professor.
Bringing a wealth of business experience to the role, Mr. Murphy will contribute to the College’s educational activities particularly concerning themes in leadership, managing through change, talent management, sustainability and strategic decision making in global business.
In executing the role Murphy will deliver a number of lectures to MBA, MAcc and Executive Education students.
Murphy currently provides strategic business advice to business owners and executives. He has held very senior executive roles in global businesses in KPMG and Ardagh Group and has served on both international and domestic boards. He recently stepped down as the Group COO of Ardagh Group– a $10 billion sustainable packaging group founded by Paul Coulson.
Prior to his role in Ardagh, Murphy was a partner in KPMG for almost 20 years, including three years as the firm’s Head of Tax and six years as Managing Partner. He served on KPMG’s Global and EMA Boards and was the Senior Director of the KPMG Global Board. He holds a first class honours B.Comm, a first class honours DipPrAcc from UCD, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland having achieved joint first place in the Final Admitting Examination.
