44 students from UCD Smurfit School MBA and MSc programmes travelled to Danville, VA in the USA to compete in the 37th MBA Rugby World Cup entering both the Lady's and Men's teams.

UCD Smurfit School Lady's Rugby team finished 3rd while Men's finished 1st.

This tournament has become a Smurfit MBA tradition having entered teams for the past 19 years - with many victories over the years we have become known as "the team to beat".

This group has demonstrated project management at its best, with MBA students arranging all coaching, training, logistics and sponsorship themselves to allow them to enter this popular competition.

We are delighted to report that the Men's rugby team won overall beating Wharton in the final and beating Yale, Columbia, SMU and LSB along the way! The Ladies team also returned with a trophy - finishing in third place.
