The awards scheme, now in its 10th year, is run in conjunction with the Business Journalist Association of Ireland (BJAI) and are sponsored by open eir. Commenting on the awards, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, Dean, UCD College of Business said: “This year saw a record number of entries and, once again, the standard of writing and analysis was of an exceptional standard. The shortlist reflects a body of work which contributes to our collective understanding of important business, financial and economic issues that shape our lives.”

Carolan Lennon, Managing Director, open eir, awards sponsor and member of the judging paneladded: “I congratulate all shortlisted journalists for this year’s awards. The standard of journalism each year continues to impress the judging panel with its insight, analysis and writing that informs the public on key issues of the day.”
