26 November 2024: The UCD Smurfit School Business Journalist Awards are delighted to announce the shortlist for the 2024 Business Journalist Awards which includes 39 journalists across seven categories.
The UCD Smurfit School Business Journalists Awards are sponsored by Bank of Ireland and honour excellence in Irish business journalism across the media spectrum. Entries are submitted by nominees themselves or on behalf of journalists by their editors or peers.
This year’s entries set records with all-time highs of 136 entries from 72 journalists from 21 different media outlets.
This year also saw 30 women submit entries, up eight journalists from the previous year. This represents 45% of all submissions, which sets a record high in the award’s 17-year history.

The winner of each category will be announced at an awards ceremony on Monday, 9th December 2024, with each winning category awarded a €1,000 prize.
The winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award will be announced at the event.
