UCD Smurfit School has improved its position in the latest Financial Times European Business Schools Rankings by one place to 23rd in the 2018 rankings published today.

The Financial Times European Business Schools Rankings are a “ranking of rankings” measuring schools’ quality and breadth of programmes in the following courses which are individually ranked: Full Time MBA; Executive MBA; Master in Management (MiM); and Executive Education Open and Customised programmes. Continued improvement in this combined ranking signifies consistently strong performance across a broad range of programmes and independently validates UCD Smurfit School’s status as Ireland’s top graduate business school.

Among the programmes considered in this consolidated ranking are UCD Smurfit School’s full-time MSc in International Management which was ranked 7th globally by the FT in October, including a number 1 rank for international mobility. In doing so a first ever top ten global position for an Irish business school programme in a highly respected international ranking was achieved. Earlier this year the MSc in Finance was positioned 30th in Europe with Smurfit Executive Development Open Enrolment programmes ranked 24th in Europe in May of 2018.

Commenting on continued improvement in rankings, Professor Anthony Brabazon, Dean, UCD College of Business said: “UCD Smurfit School’s success in achieving consistently high rankings in the provision of both Masters and Executive Development programmes is important, not just to our students who benefit from best-in-class teaching and learning environment, but also to the Irish economy. Having a world-class centre of excellence for business education is a key asset for Ireland and remains an important resource to the multinational and indigenous sectors. Our progress in developing the international standing we enjoy today requires a relentless pursuit of excellence and together with our faculty and staff we will retain the focus on continual improvement, innovation in teaching and learning to maintain and enhance standards for the benefit of the our students and the broader society we serve.”

In addition to the international rankings, UCD College of Business remains the only business school in Ireland (and one of only 86 worldwide) to hold accreditation from three centres of business and academic excellence: EQUIS (Europe); AACSB (US); and AMBA (UK), having retained the accreditation in May of this year. In doing so UCD College of Business shares these accreditations with some of the world’s elite business schools including: Harvard Business School; IMD; London Business School; Stanford University; INSEAD; and Yale School of Management.
