Overview
UCD College of Business has performed a carbon footprint assessment with the support of a leading global consulting firm. The measurement covers Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for 2023. Our approach conforms with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the global standard to measure and manage emissions.
This assessment has allowed UCD College of Business to establish an initial baseline to measure and evaluate our carbon footprint. The information concerning emissions arising from our operations will be refined, measured, and reviewed annually enabling continuing evaluation of progress towards our objective of reducing our environmental impact.
Assessment
The assessment will help UCD College of Business to prioritise actions for meeting our climate goals and UCD’s target to reduce energy-related greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030.
UCD is currently reviewing its strategy for the period 2024-2030 and our future actions will also be guided by specific targets and actions concerning reductions in environmental impact arising as part of that process.
