MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship Recipient 2022

Scholarships are really important because it creates a bridge for people to achieve their dreams. Having been awarded the UCD Smurfit MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship, for me in the most literal sense, means basically handed a tool to inscribe my name on the list of people that will leave a significant impact on the world. Upon graduation, I wish to pursue a career as a financial consultant. However, my lifelong ambition is to create basic infrastructure in the developing world to widen access the basic amenities for the less privileged which will afford them a decent chance at life.

MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship Recipient 2022

I am incredibly interested in understanding ways in which to strengthen African economies through business development. If we have strong businesses in Africa it can lead to more stable countries and greater investment into its people. Therefore, I am very keen in pursuing a career in private equity, as I believe investing in different businesses can diversify markets and generate employment. The UCD Smurfit MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship gave me access to study at a postgraduate level, an opportunity I otherwise might not get.
