MSc Merit Based Scholarships open to Vietnamese students

This Scholarship programme is funded by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. The scholarships are awarded to academically exceptional students from Vietnam.

The Scholarship programme aims to attract excellent candidates to the Schools MSc programmes and encourage early application. Successful candidates will be ambassadors for their course and the School during their studies and after graduation.

Scholarship awards cover up to 50% of the tuition fees per candidate.

Scholarships are open to self-sponsored candidates who have been offered a place on a full time MSc Programme. Applicants must have completed the application process to the programme of their choice and fulfilled the necessary admissions requirements. 

Scholarship winners will be selected on merit.

Please note that UCD Belfield programmes run in conjunction with UCD Smurfit School - MSc in Biotechnology and Business, MSc in Biotherapeutics and Business and MSc in International Law and Business - are not eligible for Scholarships.

All programme applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will automatically be considered for this Scholarship.  There is no separate form or process for this scholarship.

To be considered you must have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or a TOEFL of 100 / 120 for our English Language Requirement and you also must have a degree result average of minimum 8 out of 10 (i.e. minimum 80% average). You also must hold a full unconditional offer from the UCD Smurfit School of Business by 1st May 2024.

Decisions will be made by the Schools Scholarship Committee on or before 31st June 2024. All decisions are final. Successful candidates can be awarded one Scholarship only. No candidate will be awarded more than one Scholarship or Bursary. Candidates qualifying for more than one scholarship and successful can’t transfer or use one scholarship between or against another programme.

Scholarships Notice

Candidates may apply for a number of scholarships, if they are successful in attaining more than one scholarship, however, they may only accept one scholarship bursary. Scholarship bursaries cannot be added together or combined.

Candidates will be awarded the higher amount. Candidates cannot transfer or use one scholarship or bursary between or against another programme. Scholarships and bursaries are also not allowed to be deferred to a future academic year, it is only applicable and awarded to the student for the year they are offered a place in UCD Smurfit. If a student, subsequently, decides to defer their offer they will lose their scholarship or bursary and be required to apply in the future.

If candidates are in receipt of a SUSI grant they are not eligible to receive a scholarship .

UCD Smurfit School Scholarships are not applicable to courses in UCD Smurfit Executive Development, UCD Belfield campus or programmes run in conjunction with UCD Belfield including the MSc in Biotechnology and Business, MSc in Biotherapeutics and Business and MSc in International Law and Business.
