The UCD Leadership in Healthcare Network was formed out of a desire to bring those with an interest in healthcare and leadership together to share in each other’s knowledge, experience and expertise. Dr Knut Moe (practising GP) and Sinead Ryan (pharmacist), both Executive MBA graduates of UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, recognised the potential of a network of UCD Smurfit School graduates from across the healthcare sector to provide a base for such a network. With the support of Professor Gerardine Doyle, Director of the Smurfit School, Associate Dean College of Business, the UCD Leadership in Healthcare Network was established in Spring 2020. The network focuses on promoting excellence in healthcare leadership through collaboration, innovation and shared learning/experience.

In collaboration with Professor Mary Horgan, President of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (UCD Alumni Awardee), UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and their joint extensive network and alumni in business, medicine and healthcare faculties, the UCD Leadership in Healthcare Network aims to hold a number of events throughout the year to cater for a broad range of interests throughout the healthcare, pharmaceutical, MedTech and related sectors. These events will include keynote speaker sessions and workshops from frontline healthcare providers, prominent global thought leaders and academics working in healthcare leadership and healthcare industry experts. This conference is the inaugural conference of the UCD Leadership in Healthcare Network.
