This part-time midweek MBA facilitates senior professionals from any discipline to accelerate their career progression while applying their class-room learning in real time. Participants in this two-year programme typically continue in full-time employment whilst attending classes on campus two evenings a week. 

 

The Modular Executive MBA offers busy professionals across all industry sectors  ultimate flexibility. It combines attendance on campus two days a month with a number of supplementary foundation and leadership workshops as online components. This mode of delivery means the programme can accommodate participants who cannot commit to weekly classes. Participants complete the programme on a module-by-module basis.

Programme Structure

 

The programme is structured over 3 trimesters, August to August, during which time you will complete 15 core modules, 2 option modules and a Capstone project. Leadership and Development (LDP) is built into the year.

Time on campus

 

On the full-time MBA you will undertake all classes at our Blackrock campus. Classes generally take place between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, Monday to Friday, however some option modules and other events run in the evenings and weekends. Participants must be flexible and prepared to undertake group work and self-directed study outside of scheduled class time.

The Programme begins with a four-day Foundation Week including orientation activities, LDP activities and introductory lectures.

 

 

On the Executive MBA, students meet on campus twice a week during term time for classes on Monday and Thursday evenings from 17.45 - 21.45 at our Blackrock campus.

We would advise that participants envisage 10 - 14 additional group work and self-directed study hours per week to achieve their coursework, and this can vary depending on the current module.

The Programme begins with a four-day Foundation Week including orientation activities, LDP activities and introductory lectures.

 

 

The Modular MBA requires candidates to be on campus once a month, for two full days of teaching (Friday and Saturday from 08.30 - 18.30) at our Blackrock campus. Two additional days per year are required to attend Leadership and Development Programme workshops. All dates are outlined in the curriculum tab on our website.

Travel modules and GNAM

 

Travel modules are core modules, and full time MBA students are expected to undertake the following:
‘Doing Business in International Markets’ and
‘International Consultancy Project’

In October, students undertake a module as part of Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) - students can travel to a network Business School or choose to undertake the module at Smurfit in Dublin.

 

 

Travel modules are optional. They require one full week of attendance outside of Ireland: ‘Global Business Environments’ takes place in an EU city in June of your first year, and ‘Doing Business in International Markets’ takes place in an overseas destination in March of your second year. Participating in these modules will incur an additional fee, however the modules are subsidised.

In June of Year 2 EMBA students have the option to take a Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) module, this provides the opportunity to travel to one of our global network Business Schools or choose to undertake the module at UCD Smurfit School at our Blackrock Campus.
