Overview
This exciting programme offers you all the benefits of a comprehensive management education without putting your career on hold thanks to its highly flexible online delivery mode, and innovative curriculum and learning resources. It is particularly suited to professionals in demanding careers and /or those with caring responsibilities for whom time-flexibility is important, as well as for those based outside of Dublin and Ireland looking to study at UCD.
The programme is aimed at those with a non-business undergraduate degree who are looking to accelerate their career by combining their prior qualifications with an in-depth understanding of all key business disciplines, and the necessary problem-solving and leadership skills to support their professional development. Students will undertake a number of modules online over two years. There are generally between three and five hours of live sessions for modules across the trimester in addition to pre-recorded content – all live sessions are recorded for those unable to join live at the time.
About our Delivery
The MSc in Management Online (Part-Time) will offer you the flexibility to study from wherever you are, learning at your own pace with the ability to combine studies with work and personal commitments in a way that suits your needs.
At the beginning of the programme, you will be introduced to your fellow students, the programme team, the online environment and digital tools that you will use during the course. A dedicated Programme Manager will be with you every step of the way, ready to help you succeed. You can connect with them easily by email, a one-on-one video call, or a chat on the phoneb. Connecting with your classmates and peer-to-peer learning is a key part of the learning experience. You can expect approximately 12-14 hours of self-study per week.
While this part-time programme is delivered online, it also offers opportunities for students to build relationships with other students at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business. There are regular online seminars, workshops and careers events available to you no matter where you are around the globe. You can also avail of our optional opportunities for additional co-curricular activities while on the programme including the Global Leadership Programme and the UCD Advantage Award.
Student Insight
Aoife Feely, Plastic Surgery Specialist, MSc Management Online student
"The importance of developing management skills was highlighted early in my career. Between managing teams, caseloads, operating lists, and the hospital environment, I was interested in learning how to develop these skills in a formalised manner. This is a field that could not be further from my education to date, but speaking to the programme staff when I was first considering the Master’s degree—well, their kindness and patience cannot be understated. They helped me believe this was possible."
Alumni Insight
Laura Lofner, Funding Advisor, MSc Management Online student
“I chose this Masters programme for a variety of reasons, but the most significant is the accessibility for students living outside of Dublin. The programme has great flexibility due to its online delivery and part-time study. Even though this course is online, one of the biggest surprises for me has been how connected the lecturers and other students are to one another."
