Stern Business School New York University took part in a programme on 'Doing Business in Ireland' 15-19 March at Smurfit Business School. This is their second visit; their first visit being in November 2007 with the end result that an exchange programme of 3 students was set up between Stern and UCD Smurfit School. The week involved background talks on the environment for business In Ireland, company talks and visits, and cultural visits and insights. Lectures were given on the Irish Political System, the Irish Economy, Taxation Innovation and The Industrial Development Agency. Students visited, and received talks from, Intel, Microsoft and Diageo. CRH, Pfizer and Citibank gave talks at Smurfit. Finally, cultural activities included a bus tour of Dublin, visit to the Guinness Storehouse, theatre - 'Philadelphia Here I Come', Comedy at the International Bar, the Irish Archaeology Museum and Irish Dancing at the Arlington Temple Bar. An inspiring week was had by all!
