Programme Objectives - Accelerating Leadership of Sustainability
In 2012, the Origin Green programme pioneered a pathway for the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry to begin its sustainability journey. We must now elevate the issue of sustainability to a guiding principle for businesses. The Irish food, drink and horticulture industry has called out its senior leadership group as the key force in meeting the challenges facing the industry. Customer demand for sustainability and our national requirement for carbon reduction cannot be dealt with by sustainability professionals working alone and isolated in the organisation. Sustainability must be led from the board and the executive team embedding sustainability into business strategy and investment decisions. Immediate action and the accelerated leadership of sustainability is now an urgent requirement.
Programme Structure
Pre-programme online sessions will be curated to develop participants technical understanding of sustainability and regulatory policies. The programme will consist of three in-person modules, each three days in duration and delivered in UCD Smurfit Executive Development which will entail:
• Discussion and analysis of industry specific case studies.
• Real life problem solving by taking part in a live case study with a company outside the sector.
• Teaching seminars with global thought leaders in the sustainability sector.
• Peer to peer learning by means of immersive discussions with your peers.
• Facilitated discussion and Q&A sessions with industry experts and leaders.

Tuition Fees
The fees for participation in the Leaders Sustainability Acceleration Programme for verified Origin Green member companies are as follows:
€5,400 per participant
OR
€3,250 per participant for small companies with a turnover of less than €3.5 million per annum
The cost per Origin Green verified retailer/food service member is €10,780. Note: Funding from Bord Bia is not available for these sectors.
